Tuesday arrived and we were all up at 5.00am. An hour later we headed for Brisbane International airport where we were joined by Kelly. The counter had only just opened for our flight so no waiting and through we went without problems or any delays. GSE Chair and Christine Kennedy joined us for a last round of coffee before we headed off to the departure lounge after going through customs. A bit of last minute duty free shopping and before you knew it we were winging our way to Auckland.
After two movies it was time to descend into the city of sails where a lovely 22 deg day awaited. Through customs and out in the reception area were our welcoming committee headed by NZ GSE Chair Bob Lang.
We were given information about Auckland and a useful book detailing our itinerary and then off to our hosts. That evening Colin Pauling who was the GSE team leader for the NZ team to District 9600 hosted an evening where we were introduced to DG Neil and others and we had a lovely welcoming dinner and drinks at Colins palatial waterfront home.
