Yesterday was just our second day in New Zealand where we are enjoying some wonderful Kiwi hospitality. Past DG Geoff Dainty took us on a tour of Auckland where we saw the main streets and commercial hub then off to the bridge and along the waterfront. The boat marina's contain thousands of boats..every Aucklander must own at least one!!...some of which were in the mega million dollar class. The trip along the waterfront was very scenic and past houses that were selling for around 4 to 5 million.
Bit out of our price range so we declined the offer to buy.
There are plenty of parks such as the Domain where the Auckland Museum is...lovely building with tremendous views.
We went back to geoffs lovely residence which was built in 2009 with all the charm and spendour of yesteryear but not before buying a pair of runners for Jennifer who found the sandals hard going.
We ran through our presentation quickly then made a team decision to go to the evenings presentation at New Lynne Club in our best attire.
The New Lynne Club meets at a Golf Club. Very friendly and informal Club and we all enjoyed the company and food. Our presentation was the long one of roughly 30 minutes which apart from me clicking the wrong button went very well. The questions that followed were good and they particularly liked the demonstration of how pidgin english is spoken in PNG.
We are looking forward with much anticipation to the adventure ahead.
